This is the authorized statement regarding accreditation per COAMFTE:
- The Marriage and Family Therapy Program at _____________ is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), 112 South Alfred Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, (703) 838-9808, coa@aamft.org.
- We may need to use this statement in plural form if referring all MFT programs we offer. In this case, we must also list the specific programs that have the accreditation to avoid any confusion or transparency issues
- Reference documentation - see pg. 37
- COAMFTE-accredited programs may not use the AAMFT name, corporate logo, and/or the abbreviated initials, AAMFT
- Additionally, we can speak generally about the benefits to attending a COAMFTE-accredited program, but we cannot describe those benefits in our own words. We must direct users to page: http://coamfte.org/imis15/COAMFTE/Accreditation/About_Accreditation.aspx to learn about what those specific benefits are.
